Official BSB Test At Snetterton

Posted by Jess under Latest News

After 3days of testing at Snetterton and mixed weather conditions I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

On friday the track was cold, wet and it was also very windy, we all agreed that it would be sensible to take it easy in the first session to get the hang of everything and the weather condidtions.

The next session it was still too wet to put slicks on, so I went out there slow and gradualy built my speed up as the session went on. In the last session on friday it was totaly dry but still very windy, I got my times down as the session went on and was 5th fastest out on track.

On saturday the conditions were still horible and infact worse than what they were on friday, in the first session it was dry but very windy and cold, I really enjoyed it though because I was having fun with some other riders and we were passing each other here and there, I was 5th fastest again but was still a second off my best time but that was mainly because it was very cold and windy.

In the second session I was late out because we had trouble getting the bike started so my tires had gone cold, it was wet this time out and yet again very cold and windy. I couldnt concentrate in this session and it was really slipery and just as I was starting to get the hang of things and get into a groove I went into the left and then the flick to the right after the long back straight when my rear wheel completely lost grip and slid right round on me, lukerly it didnt highside me though, but I couldnt quite understand why it was though because I wasnt even putting the power on which if you do so too early, this happens, the only reason why it did happen though was beacuse it was very slippery and my tires most likely wernt up to temperature.

In the last session on friday it was wet again but not as waterlogged as what it was in the previous session. I was really up for this session and was really enjoying it. It was the last lap of the session and another rider had just passed me, I was determind not to let him get away and was going a little bit faster into a a fast swooping bend called the bomb hole, when the back end let go and highsided me! I landed hard on the left side of my head and shoulder and went slidding down the rode onto the grass and into the barrier. I got up straight away but as I was doing so I started feeling very dizzy as if birds were flying around my head!

On sunday the weather was briliant it was a lot warmer and the wind had gone, I went out on track determind not to fall off for the third time running and also to improve my dry lap time. I started off fairly slowly and then built it up from there. A faster rider came past me and so I decided to try and hang onto the back of him, I did so for three quarters of a lap and then smoke and this dissgusting smell started coming from his bike and so he slowed down and so did I which I was a bit gutted about because I reckon I could of got a even better time, but I was still happy because I improved my time and was 6th fastest in this session.
I would like to thank my team for all their effort at the weekend which includes: Gary Dawson for his support and effort over the weekend and to Dave Cherry for setting the bike up, fixing and cleaning it thoroughly after every day of testing, and also to Frank Pate for his support and for sponsoring me and the team thanks guys.
